The Making of “Acércate”

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Able2Film Entertainment on an exciting, new project: Stephanie Acevedo’s official music video for her song Acércate!

Stephanie is the first Latin artist from the Young Money label, and it was a pleasure to work with her and the Able2Film crew. The entire music video was shot in a single day, at multiple scenic locations in Miami. There was rain, there was heat and there was an army of mosquitoes, but our mission was accomplished in the end. Directed by Aaron M. Abelto, the upcoming music video culmination of the hard work and talent provided by everyone involved.

Check out the behind-the-scenes video (filmed and edited by me) below, and be sure to watch the full music video, coming soon!

“Rose” a Miami 48HFP 2017

Through a sponsorship with the Fort Lauderdale Women’s Club, I had the pleasure of participating in the Miami 48 Hour Film Project once again. As usual, the experience was a mix of joy, stress, excitement and panic. In the end, we got our film submitted with 4 minutes to spare and even made it into the “Best Of” list with a nomination for “Best Music Score.”

Stay tuned for a blog post detailing my team’s experiences, and check out the official teaser below.

#Throwback – “I Before Thee”

In the summer of my junior year in college, I was given the opportunity to be a part of a feature film. It was my first time working with a brand new team of people for a project, as all of my previous films had been student shorts.

The film was I Before Thee, (or #I4Tmovie) directed by Aaron M. Abelto. Through I4T, I was able to practice in many areas of production, including camera and boom operation, as well as editing. Working on this film also showed me the collaborative nature of filmmaking, as the almost no-budget film was completed with the help of numerous local talents and businesses.

The film premiered at the Sawgrass Regal Cinema in February of 2016.

However, don’t think that was the end for I Before Thee. The film is now in the works for an international distribution deal. I can’t wait for everyone to see the hard work that was put in to this film. For everyone that was involved, the film is a symbol of what can be accomplished when you combine talent, passion for filmmaking and support from your local community.

Until the film is officially released, please enjoy the official trailer for the film, edited by Aaron and I.

Above the Skyline EPK

Above the Skyline is an independent rock band from Homestead, FL, with whom we’ve had the pleasure of working with for a few projects, including their anti-bullying music video for their song “Don’t Cut Out the Light.” Get familiar with the members and their unique sound through this EPK created by my team and I at Prize Box Productions!

“Don’t Cut Out the Light” Music Video

From a collaboration between Prize Box Productions and local Miami band Above the Skyline, “Don’t Cut Out the Light” was created as an anti-bullying and suicide-awareness music video. We hope that this video encourages those who have been bullied or face depression to know that they are not alone in this world. Likewise, we hope it can encourage those who witness bullying to be proactive and be a positive light to those victimized, rather than simply being a bystander.

“SHADOW” and “ARDOR”

In 2016, my filmmaking team, Prize Box, took on a unique short film venture. As a part of the 305 Film Project, we created two short films based around the same story. The first short, “Ardor” directed by Ricardo Lugo, is told from the perspective of a street musician struggling to make ends meet as he falls in love with a young college student. The second short, “Shadow” directed by myself, follows the same events from the perspective of the student and how both characters’ lives have unexpectedly intertwined.

Check out the teaser below, and stay tuned for the full release later this year!

Above the Skyline “Don’t Cut Out the Light” Teaser

I am pleased to share the teaser trailer for my latest project, a music video for the Miami-based band, Above the Skyline. The video features their inspirational song “Don’t Cut Out the Light,” and highlights a message of hope to victims of bullying, suicidal thoughts/actions, depression or similar issues. The video was written and directed by myself, and produced through Prize Box Productions.

The video will be officially released in late April, but please enjoy the teaser until then.
