In the summer of my junior year in college, I was given the opportunity to be a part of a feature film. It was my first time working with a brand new team of people for a project, as all of my previous films had been student shorts.
The film was I Before Thee, (or #I4Tmovie) directed by Aaron M. Abelto. Through I4T, I was able to practice in many areas of production, including camera and boom operation, as well as editing. Working on this film also showed me the collaborative nature of filmmaking, as the almost no-budget film was completed with the help of numerous local talents and businesses.
The film premiered at the Sawgrass Regal Cinema in February of 2016.
However, don’t think that was the end for I Before Thee. The film is now in the works for an international distribution deal. I can’t wait for everyone to see the hard work that was put in to this film. For everyone that was involved, the film is a symbol of what can be accomplished when you combine talent, passion for filmmaking and support from your local community.
Until the film is officially released, please enjoy the official trailer for the film, edited by Aaron and I.
